Lent & Holy Week at BSM

February 17, 2015
FullSizeRenderJoin Broad Street Ministry every Sunday in worship through Lent where we’ll be reflecting on our Lenten theme Get It Off Your Chest: Confession & Declaration. Lent is an opportunity for us to undertake a robust examination of the practice of confession to ourselves, our community, and to the world. Confession isn’t about self-flagellation and making ourselves feel bad about how terrible we are. Rather, confession and the season of Lent present us with three opportunities to engage with a more productive idea of confession: first, confession to oneself in the form of honest self-reflection can be freeing; second, confession to one’s neighbor in the form of reconciliation and community life binds us to one another in love; and third, confession to the world in the form of behaviors that are shaped by what one confesses to be true.
Join us in Lent to see that confession is nothing to be scared of – it can transform ourselves and the world.
Worship services are every Sunday at 4:00pm and on Maundy Thursday, April 2, at 7:00pm.  Bible study meets every Wednesday at 6:15pm.
Broad Street Ministry is a broad-minded faith community committed to extending radical hospitality and creating a spiritual home for all, especially those who feel like they don’t belong anywhere else.  For more information, click here.
