WorkOut | Vestibule 2006
WorkOut, a community-based art installation project by artist Peggy Diggs is the culmination of a collaboration between the conceptual artist and fifteen inmates at the maximum security State Correctional Institution at Graterford, in Graterford, Pennsylvania. The exhibition will be hosted by Broad Street Ministry from October 12 – 25, 2006, and will debut prototypes designed for optimal living in tight spaces. The project was realized in partnership with the City of Philadelphia Mural Arts Program. Broad Street Ministry is excited to be a part of this collaboration—not just for the important creative relationship that was forged between Peggy and the inmates. The designs and the artistic work is special. We are excited about how this work and collaboration suggests ways we might break down barriers that keep neighbors from working together for a better society.
